Your role and responsibilities
The primary purpose of this role is to develop and fully establish the SZC skills funds programme that will ensure socio-economic benefits from the SZC project are maximised, especially for those vulnerable or disadvantaged residents with barriers to education and employment.
You will work within a small supportive team that will:
* engage with several SCC service areas including skills, economic development and planning as well as our legal, communications and procurement teams
* analyse available labour market information and liaise with developers to identify synergies between the opportunity made available by different infrastructure projects
* work directly with the SZC project and other key stakeholders to plan skills investments and activity that deliver regional benefits and address set SZC requirements
* work alongside colleges, training providers and other key stakeholders as part of a Suffolk approach.
You will need
* Our ideal candidate will have experience of working at a management level in partnership with multiple organisations such as government departments, colleges, training providers and employers or developers, ideally across the construction or energy industry
* We hope you’ll be passionate about maximising regional value and creating a legacy
* Understanding and having experience of what is required to establish funding programmes and the allocation of grants will be key to success in this role
The team
