We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Community Befriending Project Manager / Activities Coordinatorwith experience or knowledge of delivering befriending projects, music related activities and/or training within the volunteer sector, excellent communication skills and an empathetic nature.
Working as a Community Befriending Project Manager / Activities Coordinator you will be key in the delivery of the organisation’s intergenerational project, ensuring that local residents partake in it over the next 2 years.
As a Community Befriending Project Manager / Activities Coordinator you will monitor and evaluate the project and ensure that findings are acted upon.
The Community Befriending Project Manager / Activities Coordinator will directly manager the project, engaging and running groups and sessions, and managing the team which comprises of a part-time Volunteer Coordinator, Media Launchpad Lead and Project Worker.

DUTIES
Your duties as Community Befriending Project Manager / Activities Coordinator will include:
1. Oversee the delivery of the project, engaging local communities in the intergenerational programme
2. Managing and delivering the befriending aspect of the project
3. Working closely with staff at the organisation to deliver a variety of activities to participants of the project
4. Monitoring and evaluating the project, tracking how the programme empowers, builds confidence, and decreases social isolation of participants
5. Building relationships with local organisations and services to promote and find referral pathways for the project
6. Create and deliver a variety of initiatives that will build a legacy of ongoing support for participants after exiting from the project
7. Line manage the project team to deliver the project
8. Write reports on a regular basis to both the Senior Leadership Team but also to the National Lottery to ensure that all stakeholders are aware of the projects progress
9. To involve 400 participants over 2 years
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
10. Experience or knowledge of delivering befriending projects and best practice in befriending
11. Experience of music related activities and or training
12. Experience of delivering training and support to volunteers and project participants
13. Ability to adapt work if the needs of the organization or project participants changes
14. Experience of working as part of a small team
15. Experience of implementing monitoring and evaluation processes
16. Experience of working in the voluntary sector
17. Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Teams and Excel
18. Experience in managing staff would be advantageous
19. Excellent communicator, with the ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders including younger people, older people and external organisations
20. Passionate about volunteering and the benefits it can bring to an organisation, the local community and individuals
21. Empathetic in nature and able to respond to needs of individuals while maintaining clear project boundaries
22. Positive attitude with a problem-solving mindset
23. Ability to work alone and see opportunities for the organisation to grow and develop its projects
24. Invested in personal development and willing to learn from others
