Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant Role: Recent graduate with a 2:1 or above in Psychology, Education, Humanities, or a related field Previous experience working with children or young people, especially those with SEN, is highly desirable Passionate about supporting students with a range of SEN, including ADHD, dyslexia, attachment, trauma, and emotional/behavioural needs Able to adapt teaching materials and strategies to support individual student needs, including the delivery of tailored interventions and pre/post-tutoring Willingness to assist students with health needs, including managing diabetes and supporting the use of sensory circuits Support the class teacher with lesson planning, classroom management, and delivering engaging lessons Ability to build positive relationships with students, helping them develop confidence, social skills, and self-regulation Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with various learning needs Adapt the curriculum to ensure all students can access learning and make progress Assist with the delivery of sensory circuits and other therapeutic interventions Support students with executive functioning skills, including time management, organization, and self-regulation Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment where every child feels valued and supported Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to monitor and track student progress Work closely with families and external professionals, ensuring effective communication and partnership Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant Key Details: Full-time, term-time only Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant position, Monday to Friday Competitive weekly salary of £500-£550 Immediate start from January 20th with the potential for an extended role Based at an Outstanding primary school in Sutton Coldfield with a nurturing, inclusive, and supportive environment Ideal opportunity for graduates considering a career in education, particularly those interested in SEN This role provides a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a forward-thinking, supportive school that values the development of both its students and staff.
