Are you an experienced Senior Design Manager looking to advance your career in a dynamic and inclusive team? We are seeking a talented individual to manage the design aspects of tenders and projects in progress within the Kent business. This position offers a mix of project-based and office-based work, with flexibility for occasional remote working.
Responsibilities:
Establish and manage effective project design resources at bid and delivery stages.
Lead a professional, comprehensive, and sustainable design service for clients and stakeholders.
Coordinate the design process through the RIBA stages, ensuring innovation and continuous improvement.
Oversee the completion and compliance of design management procedures.
Develop and implement effective design strategies and scopes of service.
Organize and manage design reviews and coordination meetings.
Ensure alignment of design with commercial and construction requirements, as well as budget constraints.
Must have DFE (Department For Education) projects expereince.Key Tasks:
Deliver a fully coordinated design strategy in collaboration with lead designers.
Manage and ensure adherence to design briefs and scopes of service.
Facilitate design reviews to confirm quality and compliance.
Maintain focus on commercial viability and construction feasibility during the design process.
Support bid and delivery stages by leveraging expertise in Education, Healthcare, and other sectors, with a strong understanding of DfE projects.Requirements:
Extensive experience in the main contracting market, managing projects across various disciplines such as Education and Healthcare.
Proven ability to handle both single-stage and two-stage tenders.
Strong understanding of construction design techniques.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., HNC/HND in Design Management or a related field) and/or CIOB membership.
Excellent communication and team management skills.
