Overview
We are a growing family owned haulier based in the South West. We operate a modern fleet and are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Compliance Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our organisation adheres to all regulatory requirements and internal policies. This position is vital for maintaining the integrity of our operations. The Compliance Officer will be responsible for overseeing compliance management and will include the following key areas of responsibility:
Duties
1. Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
2. Conduct regular internal audits to assess compliance with laws and regulations.
3. Manage drivers' records.
4. Monitor changes in legislation and advise management on necessary actions to maintain compliance.
5. Oversee health and safety on the various sites.
6. Provide training and support to staff on compliance-related matters.
7. Assist in the development of risk assessment strategies related to compliance issues.
Experience
1. Proven experience in a compliance role, preferably within the haulage sector.
2. Strong understanding of regulatory reporting requirements and compliance management practices.
3. Familiarity with conducting internal audits and risk assessments.
4. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
5. Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and internal teams.
