Leader Education are recruiting a Teaching Assistant for an alternative provision in Gateshead.
This all-through school works with learners who have transitioned out of mainstream education due to a variety of Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, as well as behavioural needs.
The school also works with learners to identify and address any underlying needs that may impact their education.
The aim of this school is to help pupils reintegrate into mainstream education or transition to a provision that best suits their needs.
The school is seeking an individual with experience of working with or supporting vulnerable individuals.
The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 16:30 and is a long-term position.

The successful candidate will:
* Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to obtain one.
* Have experience with SEMH or vulnerable individuals.
* Work with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in a group setting, communicating effectively.
* Work effectively with parents, carers, and other members of multidisciplinary teams to provide the best support.
* Be flexible and resilient.
* Possess communication skills that can be personalised to suit students of different abilities.
