Job Description
Direct Payment Officer - Hybrid Working
1 position available, 22.2 hrs (3 days)
The Service & Team
We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Direct Payment Team as a Direct Payment Officer.
The Role
The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting individuals with Direct Payments advice as well as arranging the set up of their Direct Payment. This includes providing information about the individual becoming an employer and funding advice. Individuals have a choice to manage their own care and support via a Direct Payment; they can arrange a care agency or employ a personal assistant. The applicant will also be responsible for reviewing the Direct Payment to ensure the person is using their Direct Payment in line with their care and support needs and is accessing the appropriate care services. The role entails a high level of contact with service users both by telephone and email. There may be occasions where you will be requested to visit the individual at home. This role is hybrid working, requiring a mixture of working from home and from the office for training purposes, team meetings, and requested office days. The applicant will also be responsible for raising invoices and recovery of unused Direct Payments funds.
Working Pattern
The working pattern for this role will be discussed at interview and can be flexible.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as being numerate and accurate, demonstrated by GCSEs grades A - C in Maths and English (or equivalent). You should be able to work on your own and as part of a team, understanding your individual contribution towards team goals. Knowledge of the state Direct Payments is desirable, but this is not essential as full training will be provided to the successful candidate. The most important attribute is a can-do attitude and the desire to learn and enhance new and existing skills you may have.

We commit to providing a reward and benefits package to attract, motivate, and reward our employees.
