Job Title Paralegal - Privacy and Data Protection - 12 month FTC Job Description The Paralegal will be a member of Sage's Centre of Excellence for Privacy reporting directly to the Global Director of Privacy. They will provide a broad level of legal support to our Data Privacy function and carry out privacy compliance activities. They will work closely with the Privacy Operations Analyst and assist key business and functional stakeholders to support qualified lawyers in their giving of legal advice relating to data protection, privacy and AI. Hybrid working - 3 days a week in office This role is also a full time 12 month FTC covering Mat leave Key Responsibilities - Primary responsibility for the monitoring of the Global Privacy Inbox, including responding to and signposting a broad range of queries; - Conducting legal research for the Centre of Excellence for Privacy and generally supporting the legally qualified members of the team to advise Sage on all matters in relation to data protection and privacy; - Project management of individual rights requests both subject access requests and deletion requests including redaction of documents/emails prior to their release; - Supporting with the completion of records of processing activy and privacy risk assessments in the tool OneTrust such as Data Protection Impact Assessments, Cookie Assessments and Transfer Impact Assessments (training will be provided). - Drafting internal policies relating to data protection and privacy matters. - Drafting content for the employee intranet to raise awareness and creating self-serve resources. - Supporting with the delivery of staff training on data protection and privacy topics. - Keeping documented legal advice and templates filed and organised in the relevant team folders. Essential: - Previous experience of working in a legal environment either in a legal department or in a law firm, or some form of legal education. - A keen interest in privacy, data protection and AI. - Good organisational skills and ability to manage work to fixed legal deadlines and prioritise workload. - Excellent communication skills. - Ability to redact PDF documents using Adobe tools.
