Qualifications and Training
Essential
* MBChB or equivalent
* Postgraduate qualification or equivalent FRCOphth
* Completion of basic training
* Completion of higher training
* Full GMC registration and currently on Specialist Register or within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at time of interview
Knowledge/Previous Experience
Essential
* Ability to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of problems, both emergency and elective within the scope of adult & paediatric orbital and oculoplastic and general ophthalmology
* Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients
* Expertise and proven experience in the management of adult & paediatric orbital and oculoplastic and general ophthalmic problems
Teaching and Audit
Essential
* Teaching medical students
* Experience of Clinical Audit in Ophthalmology
* Teaching junior medical staff
* Commitment to continuing medical education and the requirements of clinical governance and audit
Academic Achievements and Research

* A specialist interest in Orbital and Oculoplastic surgery
