Safety, Health & Environmental Advisor

VANRATH are recruiting a Safety, Health & Environmental Advisor to support the Safety, Health and Environmental Manager in the continual development and implementation of the Safety Management System.
Remuneration:
c£28,500, alongside holiday entitlement and pension (from day one).
Client
Our client is one of the largest Public Sector organisations in NI.
The Ideal Person
1. Minimum of 3 years' experience in a safety related role, in a complex highly regulated environment
2. Experience in risk assessment, including the development of improvement plans and associated standards.
3. Experience of incident investigation, producing corrective action plans and report writing.
4. Experience using safety software systems, managing SH&E data and measuring performance
5. Minimum of HNC/HND or equivalent in a safety related subject or a HNC/HND or equivalent with a NEBOSH certificate.
6. Member of IOSH or ability to obtain within an agreed timescale.
7. Understanding of document control systems.
8. Ability to successfully collaborate with both cross divisional and external stakeholders.
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
10. Implement and development the review and updating of operational standards and work instructions to ensure risks are managed robustly and complaint with the SMS, relevant legislation best practice.
11. Contribute to the continual improvement of the SH&E Management System (SMS) ensuring it is at least compliant with regulation Safety Certification, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and similar.
12. Carry out risk assessments as required across the division.
13. Coordinate and maintain the divisions safety risk register effectively identifies hazards, evaluates the risk, details mitigations, and informs the company risk register.
14. Coordinate and maintain the division's environmental aspect and impact register.
15. Coordinate and maintain the division's compliance/legal register that identifies and interprets regulatory impact and lists the processes that demonstrate compliance.
16. Support the maintenance of regulatory operational processes (e.g. Company's Rules and Regulations rulebook) and associated amendments, alterations and reviews.
