Role Summary
The QA Lead is essential in ensuring our products are delivered with high quality, on schedule, and aligned with customer expectations.
In this role, you will be a strong advocate for quality, making sure our standards, procedures, and specifications are clearly understood and consistently followed. You'll also play a key role in rolling out QA policies across the department and providing support and mentorship to the QA team to help them grow and succeed.
This position is both hands-on and strategic, allowing you to work directly on QA tasks while also driving quality improvements and initiatives throughout the team.
Responsibilities
* Guide and mentor QA team members, helping them to develop their technical and soft skills.
* Assist in career development and provide performance feedback to QA team members.
* Promote and ensure adherence to QA best practices across teams.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting enhancements to existing processes and tools.
* Communicate testing progress, issues, and risks to the QA Director and relevant teams.
* Provide regular status reports, including defect trends, Risks and recommendations for improvements.
* Manage resource allocation across teams.
* Identify potential risks and work proactively to mitigate them.
* Ensuring all development tasks meet quality criteria through test planning, test execution, quality assurance and issue tracking.
* Able to analyse and assess risk of test coverage for areas of the product.
* Play an active part in contributing to the overall CI/CD pipeline.
* Proficient in time management, capable of prioritizing tasks effectively.
* Able to communicate issues clearly and explain impact on the product to the wider team.
* "Shift Left" mentality towards work. Actively seeking to get involved early in QA prep and execution .
* Understanding of the role of a QA in an agile environment.
