Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will support our attorneys in various legal tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of our practice. This role requires a strong understanding of legal procedures and excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities
1. Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, trials, and meetings by conducting legal research and drafting documents.
2. Organise and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are accurately filed and easily accessible.
3. Communicate with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in cases to gather information and provide updates.
4. Prepare legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and discovery materials using Microsoft Word.
5. Manage schedules and appointments using Outlook, ensuring timely follow-ups on important deadlines.
6. Utilise Excel for tracking case progress and managing data related to ongoing cases.
7. Conduct administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and managing correspondence within the office environment.
Skills
1. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is essential for document preparation and data management.
2. Strong command of the English language with excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively liaise with clients and colleagues.
3. Exceptional organisational skills to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
4. Effective time management abilities to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines consistently.
5. A solid understanding of IT systems relevant to the legal field is advantageous for efficient workflow management.
