The role is based at our hospital in Baldock however occasional travel to other Nouvita sites may be required on an ad hoc basis.
Hours: 9am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday

Main Objectives and Responsibilities:
The main duties/responsibilities of a Safeguarding Lead include the following:
* To provide advice and support to all staff groups, with particular focus on hospital staff, dealing with safeguarding adult issues ensuring escalation of concerns to/from other agencies and effective feedback and support from safeguarding meetings and forums
* To assist the Hospital Director and Medical Director in ensuring staff are aware through training of their responsibilities with regards to safeguarding adults.
* To support staff with complex Safeguarding cases and to produce action plan and monitor where required.
* To undertake safeguarding related investigations as required
* Ensure adults at risk who access Nouvita services are safeguarded from harm
* To ensure staff take appropriate action when there are concerns a vulnerable person may be at risk.
* Liaison with partner agencies with regards to safeguarding adults’ cases.
* To keep up to date with current research and legislation with regards to safeguarding adults.
* Attend safeguarding adult case conferences, strategy and planning meetings when required.
* Maintain their skills as a practitioner by regular direct patient contact in the highly specialised field of ‘the care of safeguarding adults’. This will include undertaking risk assessments, working with the person to establish a protection plan and undertaking mental capacity assessments where required.
* To lead, propose and assist the Hospital Director and Clinical Director in the implementation of new or revised policies for Safeguarding Adults which impact across all areas.
* To participate in the planning, improvement and monitoring of services to protect vulnerable people.
* To lead the integration of evidence-based practice in relation to safeguarding adults for hospital services.
* To inform senior managers of legislative changes which impact on service delivery.
Wellbeing Champion and Freedom to Speak Up Guardian:
* Working alongside the Hospital Director and Head of Communications, launch and support a new wellbeing initiative at the hospital.This will include sharing and signposting staff to resources (via posters etc) in order to seek additional support, arranging wellness days (approximately one per quarter) and encouraging staff to discuss and participate in wellness and mindfulness events at the hospital.Events and material should be focused on stress and burnout, physical and mental wellbeing and support

Our focus is recovery for our patients with quality care and measurable outcomes at the centre of all we do. Baldock Manor boasts a full MDT with Nursing, Psychiatry, Psychology and Occupational Therapy practitioners on site as well as a very able team of Senior support workers, support works, Therapies assistants and more.
Nouvita Healthcare offer a full range of mental health support for 150 patients and residents, in ten different locations in Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Bedfordshire
