Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Registered Veterinary Nurse with a passion for client care. You will enjoy working within a close-knit team and be keen to continue to develop your skills whilst sharing your unique experiences, to allow us all to learn from each other.
The full time is 40 hours per week Mon-Fri between 8.30am – 7pm with a Saturday rota of 1 in 7. There is no out of hours requirement and the client is open to candidates looking for a part time role. Salary is up to £30,044 pa DOE.
The clinic is a friendly long established 100% small animal practice with an experienced and long-standing team. The main site is set in a beautiful village, with a smaller branch practice close by. Both practices are situated in beautiful semi-rural locations in North Yorkshire, whilst still being well connected to city life. There are regular direct trains from Selby to London, Manchester and Leeds and there is also a train station in Sherburn-in-Elmet. They are just a 20-minute drive from York, and Leeds and Hull are within striking distance too.
The lovely village has 2 pubs, a fantastic butcher, a village hall that offers scouts and cubs and cricket and rugby clubs. Selby has fantastic restaurants, including a new tapas restaurant, and the beautiful Selby Abbey, steeped in history.
The nursing team consists of one head nurse and six RVNs, one student nurse and one animal care assistant. You will be joining an experienced, talented, and friendly team who pride themselves on having a positive and inclusive culture. Communication is prioritised here, with regular team meetings, full practice meetings and opportunities to discuss cases to ensure everyone feels included, empowered, and heard. There is a vet working towards her certificate in Feline medicine, and a nurse working towards a behaviour qualification. There is also a vet who is an advanced practitioner in small animal surgery. There is also a receptionist who has completed bereavement training and offers support to clients who are saying goodbye to their pets.
They believe that veterinary practice is a team sport, and they care passionately about working together to achieve both, the best outcomes for their patients and the best working environment for themselves. Professional development is important, and they always encourage team members to undertake CPD and further qualifications. They would be happy to consider funding a certificate for the successful candidate. They also prioritise staff wellbeing. You will always have access to a mental health first aider on shift, as well as a wide range of supporting materials. Finally, they are a very social bunch; there is always something going on, be it pub nights, BBQs, summer & Christmas parties and so much more.
