We are looking to recruit a Special Educational Needs Support Officer.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape practice to deliver improvements for service users.
An exciting opportunity to join the Support team within The SEN Team and assist in providing effective business and administrative support to the team & in particular the Senior SEN Officer within the SEND and Inclusion service of the Children & Young People’s Services Directorate.
This role will be focused on the processing of Education, Health & Care (EHC) needs assessment requests and the new work involved in The Change Programme linked to The National SEND & Alternative Provision (AP) Strategy
The role requires a professionally flexible approach to the tasks whilst meeting deadlines and ensuring follow up actions are progressed.
You will also be expected to maintain up to date accurate information on computerised records and systems to produce documents in line with corporate standards.
The successful applicant will have excellent IT skills, proven administrative skills and be able to prioritise their own workload, whilst working as part of a very busy team.
You will be expected to have excellent communication and customer care skills as you will be requesting information from a range of other professionals including health & social care colleagues.
It is also important to note that you will be dealing with sensitive information and working at a fast pace on a daily basis. Our Support Officers are expected to be emotionally resilient to be able to support the team efficiently.
