Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join our forward-thinking Estates and Facilities Team. In this busy role, you will develop and manage the delivery of an excellent domestic service. The role will have direct staff responsibility and ensure the safe and effective delivery of cleaning services in line with the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness. Within the busy role, you must be able to exercise effective leadership skills in managing performance and directing the EFM cleaning service to ensure a safe and well-maintained hospital environment.
Main duties of the job
The ideal candidate would have previous experience in facilities management and a proven track record of delivering results through collaborative working. Strong organisational skills and problem-solving skills, with the ability to maintain high standards at all times. You should be highly motivated, reliable, and flexible with enhanced communication skills at all levels.
You will manage your own workload, allocate workload to the team, ensuring delivery of all Facility Services in line with all relevant standards and be responsible for monitoring quality standards, compliance, and take or facilitate appropriate action as required.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
* NVQ level 4 or equivalent relevant experience in a supervisory role
* Basic Food Hygiene certificate or equivalent
* Degree level Management qualification or three years equivalent professional experience within a healthcare setting
Desirable
* Accredited to a relevant professional body such as British Institute of Cleaning Sciences (BICS)
* Intermediate Food Hygiene certificate
Experience/Knowledge
Essential
* Previous experience of managing services and staff
* Knowledge of relevant legislative and national good practice guidelines including the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness
* Experience of holding budgetary responsibility, good financial acumen, ability to work to a budget
* Knowledge and understanding of current waste legislation.
* Experience with COSHH requirements
Desirable
* Knowledge of service related Care Quality Commission (CQC) Standards
* Previous healthcare setting experience or other public sector organisation.
