Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Specialist Physiotherapist to join the Chronic Pain Management Team based at Ipswich Hospital.
We are an established outpatient Multi-disciplinary team comprising Consultants, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Clinical Psychologists, Physiotherapists and Specialist Nurses aiming to provide a holistic approach to chronic pain management. The service is based at Ipswich Hospital.
This post would ideally suit an innovative team player who is able to work as an autonomous practitioner, using advanced assessment, treatment and communication skills. The workload is varied and there are opportunities for multi-disciplinary and group working, as well as one to one physiotherapy delivery.
Proven post registration experience and a basic knowledge of chronic pain management are required.
Main duties of the job
To manage a physiotherapy caseload of patients who are experiencing persistent pain with a range of multiple and complex health needs.
To utilise a high level of clinical knowledge and experience to carry out assessments, implementing appropriate treatment, as part of the holistic care plan for individuals and/or groups.
To participate in the planning, delivery and evaluation of multi and single disciplinary group sessions and the evaluation of the pain management services provided.
To be flexible in the work place potentially working in the Pain clinic, outpatient and community locations delivering both one to one and group sessions as required.
To be responsible for the supervision and coordination of more junior staff, students and assistants on a daily basis.

Experience
Essential
1. oPostgraduate experience in musculoskeletal field
2. oKnowledge and experience of a biopsychosocial approach to managing chronic pain conditions.
3. oExperience of working alone, managing own time and using excellent organisational skills
Desirable
4. oPost graduate experience in Pain management
5. oKnowledge and experience of a range of approaches to the management of patients with a variety of complex chronic pain conditions
6. oExperience of psychological approaches to pain management
Qualifications
Essential
7. oBSc Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy
8. oHealth and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration
9. oEvidence or portfolio of postgraduate continued development.
Desirable
10. oPostgraduate training or development in clinical skills with a focus in pain or musculoskeletal therapy.

Essential
11. oSpecialist knowledge within the pain or musculoskeletal field and ability to apply this in a clinical setting
