Our IT Service plays a critical enabling role in the delivery of these services, supporting our people in carrying out their duties with safe and secure use of technology.
We are seeking to hire an IT Specialist in Information Security to join our Infrastructure & Security team reporting to the Team Manager and is responsible for ensuring the cyber security and resilience of the Council, providing advice and working closely with colleagues in IT, other Council departments and partners in the 3rd and commercial sectors.
As part of your role, you will be required to promote security awareness and raise cyber security risks to management and colleagues. Your role will require that you have a broad range of technical and cyber security experience. You will also have a passion for continuous learning & development and will be keen to develop your skills and knowledge and remain abreast of the latest challenges and trends within cyber security.

Options for home, hybrid or office working are all available with this role. However you should be willing and able to visit our HQ in Haddington or other council sites as required.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS ROLE Education: • Relevant degree and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience. Disclosure Scotland: • This role requires Basic Disclosure Clearance to allow access to the secure government networks. ELC will submit a baseline personal security standard application on behalf of the preferred candidate and receipt of the subsequent certificate will be required prior to commencement.
