About The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Team Leader to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to take the next step in their career and join a global business with a £2 billion + turnover.
The Engineering Team Leader will provide primary leadership to the Engineers, Site facilities and Machine Technicians. You will be involved in managing and prioritising the focus of the team on the agreed business priorities to ensure the best possible results are achieved, in order to meet the business and site performance requirements. This is all whilst maintaining Health and Safety and Food Safety Standards in order to provide a world class manufacturing operation fit for the future.
Shift Pattern - 4 on 4 off, 7pm - 7am (Nights)
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Accountable for the management and leadership of the machine technician team and be the first point of contact for all engineering and machine technician issues. Ensure breakdowns are dealt with promptly and conclusively, ensuring a process is in place to prevent reoccurrences.
2. In conjunction with the Engineering Manager, generate, monitor, measure and report on agreed KPIs for engineering and machine technician teams.
3. Accountability for the management of the machine technician standards to IPL internal procedures (BRC / Food safety requirements) on site.
4. Ensure that all planned maintenance, insurance inspections and all activities are effectively planned in, accurately reviewed for closure and systems in place to ensure that they are filed and communicated with relevant key stakeholders.
5. Ensure all PPM activities are completed within agreed timescales without negatively impacting on production DT and service to ASDA.
6. Ensure all engineering activities are carried out safely by all staff (in-house and contractors) in accordance with defined IPL procedures and in compliance with safety and environmental standards.
7. In conjunction with Engineering Manager own/deliver all engineering projects on site ensuring HSE policies and IPL procedures are followed in the delivery of projects to agreed timelines without any negative impact on service to ASDA.
What are we looking for?
1. Technical qualification in engineering discipline such as Degree, HNC/HND with relevant industry experience.
2. 18th Edition wiring regulations.
3. Proven industry experience within a process plant.
4. Proven record in managing a skilled team by setting standards, resource planning and coordinating work activities to meet the business needs.
5. Knowledge of HSE requirements to ensure that safe systems of work, risk assessments, pressure systems directives, statutory requirements and HSE legislation.
6. Comprehensive understanding of Food safety standards (BRC) in relation to engineering.
7. Working knowledge of PLC’s.
8. IOSH managing safety.
9. HNC/HND engineering discipline.
10. TPM/Lean Sigma training.
11. Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB) training/qualification.
12. Knowledge of VFFM’s (Vertical, Form and Feel Machine) and weighing equipment.
13. ONC or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical.
