About the Role
The key focus of the role is to manage the client engagement activity and stakeholder relationships, in the East of England and Midlands regions to improve the reach and take-up of the breadth of Innovate UK Business Growth and Scaleup Up services, making a significant contribution to the achievement of the Innovate UK Business Growth team’s objectives to work with SMEs.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Developing and leading on the delivery of a client engagement strategy to
achieve Innovate UK Business Growth Team objectives to work with High
Growth capable SMEs.
• Managing our marketing activity to develop strategies and exploit promotional
activities that will increase the flow of potential clients.
• Setting objectives for the Regional Development Specialist Team focusing on
targeting and onboarding SMEs in compliance with our funders.
• Managing the development of relationships that increase the flow of mutually
beneficial referrals with the Innovate UK family including Catapults, Innovate
UK Business. Connect, and other regional and national business support
services and intermediaries
• Developing, delivering and or participating in Innovate UK Business Growth
activities including in-person events, webinars, training events, Conferences
and meetings.
• Leading and managing your team, covering all aspects of people management
activities (recruitment and onboarding, performance management and
improvement, absence management, learning and development, coaching and
mentoring, wellbeing, etc.)
About you
• We are looking for someone with senior level business development
experience within a business support or relevant B2B organisation who has a
proven track record of building strategic, mutually beneficial relationships with
ecosystem partner organisations.
• Demonstrable experience of leading teams to achieve their objectives and
targets.
• Knowledge and experience of working with the Innovate UK Family of support.
• Experience of and working knowledge of HR processes for managing people
and teams.
• People management skills, in particular motivating and encouraging others,
coaching and mentoring, adaptable communication style, managing conflict,
giving feedback, etc.
• IT literate and experience of MS Office and the use of databases and CRM
systems.

in the region of £60,000 - £65,000pa FTE
