We are seeking a Social Media Executive to oversee delivery of content on our Instagram and Facebook channel. There will be a focus on regular formats, science communication, humour, and reactive comms. We need someone who really gets social content, can hit the ground running, and knows how to stand out. But bear in mind this is more than jumping on the latest trends and memes. We want someone who can plan and produce content based on original ideas, combining their own creativity and skills with the expertise and resources of the RSPB's creative content team. You do not have to have worked at a charity or in conservation before (although that can be a plus), but you must be able to demonstrate a strong background in social work. You'll only be considered if you include examples of your work with your application. This could be a snazzy portfolio or a list of links in a spreadsheet, as long as they show off what you can do. Don't be afraid to include the more left field examples either. Responsibilities: Create and deliver social marketing content which supports strategic objectives and communication plans Work with the Social Media Manager to develop original ideas and regular formats Develop our channel brand on Instagram and Facebook in collaboration with creative content team Support our Social Media Community Moderator to moderate channels Liaise with PR and media teams to stay updated on current affairs which may impact on channel engagement Work with the wider social team to implement social media strategy Essential skills, knowledge and experience: Proven ability creating video content for Instagram or other social platforms Proven ability to come up with unique and original ideas Passion and empathy for the audience perspective High attention to detail with strong organisational skills Assertive and resourceful with a proven track record of getting things done Desirable skills, knowledge and experience: Worked in either the charity or conservation sectors Social media moderation Video editing and production Presenting and/or interviewing Science communication Comedy Additional Information This is a fixed term full time role - We reserve the right to extend/make perm at any time.
