Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial services and demonstrate proficiency in various accounting software. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting and compliance with regulatory standards. The Senior Accountant will also play a key role in mentoring junior staff and contributing to the overall financial management of the organisation.
Duties
1. Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
2. Oversee accounts payable processes, ensuring timely payments and accurate record-keeping.
3. Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
4. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights into financial performance.
5. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and internal policies.
6. Mentor junior accountants, providing guidance on best practices and professional development.
7. Utilise accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, and PeopleSoft for efficient financial management.
8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and enhance financial processes.
Skills
1. Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices.
2. Proficiency in accounting software including Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, and PeopleSoft.
3. Experience in financial management within the financial services sector.
4. Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
5. Ability to mentor and develop junior staff members effectively.
6. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex information clearly.
