An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Support Worker, at a residential service for adults with learning disabilities in Mirfield.
This is a fabulous opportunity for an experienced Senior Support Worker to provide an excellent level of care to adults with learning disabilities.
You will manage Support Workers who promote confidence and independence of the residents.
This service enjoys supporting service users with life fulfilling activities and therapeutic daily outings such as walks in the park.
The residents are settled and a real pleasure to support.
This is a full-time position, the hours are worked over three long shifts per week.
Senior Support Worker Role:
* As a Senior Support Worker, you are responsible for managing support workers in a residential setting for adults with learning disabilities.
* Provide supervision to support workers.
* Create rotas, lead shifts, motivate support workers, and delegate activities and life skills sessions.
* Encourage support workers to enable service users to achieve their potential and lead interesting lives.
* Ensure person-centred care is provided, care plans are followed and updated, and CQC standards are met.
* Encourage service users with learning disabilities to partake in social and community events, including attending college, sporting activities, hobbies, day trips, and social evenings.
Senior Support Worker Skills / Qualities / Qualifications:
* Ideally have NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or be willing to work towards it.
* Understanding of learning disabilities.
* Supervisory skills and experience - managing and training support workers.
* Willingness to work flexible hours.
* Passion to provide excellent standard of care and enjoy providing opportunities to enable service users with learning disabilities to develop confidence and fulfil their potential.
