Senior Sustainability Consultant
Location: Manchester, UK
A leading global consultancy specializing in sustainable building design and engineering is seeking a highly motivated Senior Sustainability Consultant to join their sustainability team based in Manchester. The successful candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience in sustainability consulting and conducting BREEAM assessments. It is essential to the role that the candidate has a BREEAM AP/assessor qualification and holds a relevant degree in sustainability, environmental studies, building services, or a related field. This consultancy successfully delivers projects across a range of sectors such as Commercial, Education, Healthcare, Retail, Leisure and Sport, and MOD.
As a Senior Sustainability Consultant, your main responsibilities will include:
1. Conducting sustainability assessments, identifying risks and opportunities, and providing recommendations to improve the sustainability of building projects
2. Providing expert advice to clients across all sectors on sustainability policies, regulations, and best practices
3. Developing and implementing sustainability strategies, management plans, and action plans for clients
4. Supporting the delivery of sustainability certifications such as BREEAM/LEED/WELL
5. Conducting life cycle analysis of buildings using One-Click LCA and carbon reports
6. Developing sustainability-related reports, presentations, and technical documentation
7. Helping train and advise junior consultants on sustainability matters and initiatives
Requirements:
1. Minimum of 3 years of experience in sustainability consulting
2. Relevant degree qualification in sustainability, environmental studies, building services, or a related field
3. Qualifications in BREEAM, LEED, One-Click LCA, etc. are desired
4. Strong project management skills and ability to lead and manage projects from inception to completion
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, liaising with members of the engineering, design, and digital teams
7. Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex problems
A competitive salary on offer typically between £45,000-£55,000, however, this depends on technical skills and level of experience, with potential for more for the right candidate. A generous benefits package is on offer, see details below:
