The Associate Scientist IHM Quality Control i s responsible for testing Abcam products in Immunocytochemistry to ensure the highest quality for our customers. Also w orking collaboratively with the wider In-house Manufacturing teams to deliver on promise. This position reports to the Quality Control Manager and is part of the In-house Manufacturing QC Imaging Team located in Cambridge and will be an on-site position. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: - Design experimental plans and execut e Immunocytochemistry assays using c onfocal microscopy and high-content analyser (HCA). - Be fundamental in the final Quality Control st eps for Im munocytochemistry testing. - Drive success and be accountab le for key deliverables within the In-house Manufacturing QC Imaging Team. - Proactively contribute to our culture of continuous Improvement with ideas, from validation to implementation, that optimize existing workflows. - Problem solve and implement corrective actions for failed experiments/poor product performance. The essential requirements of the job include: - A MSc or BSc in a life sciences field. - Multiple years of experience in industry. - A firm understanding of the principles and methods used in Immuno cytochemistry. - Practical hands-on experience in Immunocytochemistry ( including confocal microscopy). - The a bility to analyze image data and judge that target protein expression / localization is accurate. It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: - Flow Cytometry - Isolation and culture of Primary cells (such as Human Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells and/or Rodent Splenocytes) - Multi-staining panel design for Flow Cytometry - Using Laboratory Management Systems and ERP Systems At Abcam, we believe in designing a better, more sustainable workforce.
