We are seeking to offer the opportunity for a passionate Higher Level Learning Assistant to join the Maths team at the City of Peterborough Academy.
The role:
The successful Higher Level Learning Assistant will support Teachers within the SEN department to ensure that pupils engage more effectively with their learning and help increase levels of achievement through appropriate provision. This is a great opportunity to combine mentoring skills whilst working in a supportive environment. They will also teach small groups.
The ideal candidates will:
* be able to demonstrate a range of behaviour management strategies
* be well organised and have high expectations of achievement and behaviour
* have the ability to engage constructively with and relate to a wide range of young people from different backgrounds
* possess excellent communication skills, at all levels

The City of Peterborough Academy was opened in September 2013 by Greenwood Academies Trust (GAT) after a £13.8m capital build. Based on Reeves Way in Peterborough, the academy has quickly grown from strength to strength. A dedicated team of staff aim to help support every child in reaching their full potential. Additionally, we have been described as a truly ‘inclusive school’ at our recent National Inclusion Quality Mark inspection and have also been awarded 'Centre of Excellence Status'. We were also ‘runners up’ at the 2020 National SEN awards for National Most Inclusive Practice.
