We have exciting new opportunities for two SENIOR/PRINCIPAL CYBER SECURITY ENGINEERS to be based at our clients premises in Warrington and Cumbria.
About the Role:
This role involves being a Lead Engineer on one or more Workstreams in the Plant Cyber Integration & Obsolescence Project portfolio. The individual will be responsible for all aspects of delivery across numerous projects from concept to handover. They will functionally report to the SL Senior Engineer for the projects.
The role will require the individual to deliver the project deliverables in line with SL tailored processes, checking work and liaising with stakeholders.
This position requires strong stakeholder engagement with security case managers, system engineers, OTG, commissioning staff, etc., throughout the lifecycle, especially during the requirements definition and analysis processes.
As a key role within the Integrated Project Team (IPT), the individual will work closely with other disciplines, including Project Management, Quality, Cost Controls, and Systems Engineers.
The role also covers the management and execution of supply chain delivery of the systems, including checking and reviewing deliverables from internal and external sources.
The individual will manage any reporting requirements, ensuring technical, safety, and engineering risks are identified and escalated to the SL Senior Engineer.
Examples of Typical Projects:
1. Provision of a Patching System to provide software patches to the Cyber Security suite of systems.
2. Provision of a Network Time Protocol (NTP) system to deliver accurate time to the Cyber Security suite of systems and facilities.
3. Delivery of a Security Information & Event Management (SIEM) system for monitoring Cyber Security information.
4. Network Hardening Project.
5. Protective Monitoring Project.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
1. Degree Qualified in appropriate discipline.
2. Professional registration (minimum IEng Level) with a relevant institute (e.g., IET).
3. At least 5 years working in roles where knowledge of IT Systems / PES design lifecycle delivery was a key attribute.
4. At least 3 years experience of working within a heavily regulated and quality assured system (preferably nuclear).
5. Acceptance of technical responsibility for the design of complex, fit-for-purpose engineering systems.
6. Evidence of producing deliverables to time, cost, and quality requirements.
7. Engineering team leadership experience.
8. Experience of working collaboratively with the supply chain to deliver successful projects and work packages.
9. Broad understanding of other engineering disciplines and their role within engineering delivery.
10. Understanding of the importance of nuclear safety and security.
11. Good commercial awareness.
12. Proven ability to work as part of an integrated delivery team, and individually, within sometimes restrictive time constraints.
13. Demonstrating excellent written and verbal communication skills.
14. Proven strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with people at all levels.
15. Demonstrable ability to undertake site visits.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
1. Knowledge of the Sellafield Ltd. Management System structure and the hierarchy of standards.
2. Understanding of the Project Delivery Fundamentals.
3. Knowledge of the Nuclear Professionalism Standards and Expectations.
4. Familiar with industrial cyber security practices i.e., BS 62443.
5. Familiar with the V-Model processes and deliverables for PES systems delivery.
6. Familiarity with SL processes and procedures for the delivery of Programmable Electronic Systems.
7. Familiarity with working on the Sellafield Site and its facilities and assets.
Security Clearance Role Requirements:
SC or above security clearance.
