As the Assistant GL Accountant, you will play a vital role in supporting the production of management accounts by delivering allocated tasks on schedule.
Your responsibilities as the Assistant GL Accountant will include:
1. Assist in maintaining and reconciling the general ledger accounts
2. Prepare journal entries and ensure they are accurately recorded
3. Collaborate with other finance team members to gather and analyse financial data
4. Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
5. Participate in the preparation of financial statements and reports
6. Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities
7. Handle ad-hoc financial tasks and projects as required
8. Actively engage in continuous improvement ensuring suggestions and opportunities are highlighted
To be considered for the position of Assistant GL Accountant, you will require:
9. Part-Qualified and actively studying with ICAEW, CIMA or ACCA
10. Previous experience in an accounting or finance position - Practice experience or AAT studies would be desirable but not essential
11. Solid understanding of, and practical exposure to the accounting fundamentals (debits/credits, etc)
12. Strong attention to detail and accuracy
13. Ability to work proactively and meet deadlines
