Your responsibilities
* Your role as a Strategic Buyer within our Manufacturing division, is to lead the procurement process within your assigned categories in line with company standards and procedures. Ensuring a focus on continuous improvement in buying to reduce the vendor base, control and reduce costs, reduce inventory, reduce lead time and management of suppliers and prices.
* Reporting any procurement risks, including supplier stability, price increases, quality issues and contractual adherence.
* Monitor and review the procurement process.
* Ensure suppliers within your assigned categories are effectively managed via quarterly reviews and supplier visits whilst price, delivery and quality objectives are achieved.
* Identify and manage supplier risk within categories, putting in place solutions to minimise risks to the business.
* Manage effective working relationships with Planners and Buyers and other key stakeholders.
* Support Quality Department in the control of purchased components and services.
* Reviewing drawings and specifications to ensure purchases are in line with company procedures.
* Create/review and manage contractual agreements including Frame Agreements, 5M Agreements, Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs).
* Complete selection and assessment for approval of suppliers.
* Identify cost reduction opportunities and liaise with stakeholders including the Continuous Improvement Team. Achieve cost saving target agreed with Section Manager.
Qualifications
* You can demonstrate solid Procurement/Purchasing experience, within a Manufacturing environment.
* You have a track record of delivering savings and best value, whilst managing multiple internal stakeholders.
* Relevant qualification (i.e. CIPS) is highly desirable, yet not essential to apply.
* Knowledge of contract writing including Terms, Conditions and Clauses.
* You possess strong communication skills, with the ability to build and manage relationships.
* Strong organisational and multi-tasking skills.
* You are capable of working within strict deadlines.
* Competent user of Microsoft Office, including Excel in particular.
