Land Manager – Energy / Renewables
Location: Flexible – ideally based in the North of England or Midlands. Work from home with occasional travel to sites and HQ.
Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 (dependent on experience) plus car allowance, 10% bonus, and excellent benefits.
About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a rapidly expanding onshore renewables business specialising in wind farms, solar energy, and battery storage solutions. This organisation is at the forefront of the UK's transition to a sustainable energy future, with a strong financial foundation, ambitious growth plans, and a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
As a Land Manager, your role will be pivotal in securing and managing land agreements to support renewable energy projects. Key responsibilities include:
* Building strong relationships and negotiating agreements with landowners, farmers, and forestry managers to secure sites for renewable energy developments.
* Working closely with internal teams, including legal, finance, planning, and engineering, as well as external consultants and contractors, to facilitate project progression.
* Conducting assessments for land suitability, environmental impact (e.g. bird and wildlife surveys), agricultural use, and archaeological considerations.
* Managing projects at various stages, from contract negotiation to pre-construction and construction phases (this is not a site-finding role).
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A proven background as a Land Manager, Estates Manager, Forestry Manager, or similar role, ideally within the renewable energy sector. Experience with solar farms, wind energy projects, or battery storage solutions is highly desirable.
* The ability to engage with key stakeholders, including landowners, project teams, and external partners, to secure agreements and maintain strong relationships.
* Familiarity with forestry management, agricultural land use, and the planning and development process for energy projects is advantageous.
* Flexibility and Mobility: A willingness to travel to project sites and attend meetings at HQ, as required.
