Our client is looking for a technician to join their team as part of the highways laboratory team. This role will be based in Micheldever. In this role, you will be responsible for the sampling of materials on sites, testing of materials, recording of results, and calibration of equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. To prepare surveys and information essential to record the condition of highways and other related sites.
2. To prepare information from surveys into format for use by designers, Clients, and others.
3. To liaise with relevant bodies (i.e., contractors, public utilities, and the like) to gain access to sites as required.
4. To undertake laboratory tests, record results, and calibrate equipment.
5. To work with due regard to Health and Safety for themselves and others at all times.
You will need:
1. Working towards RQF level 4 or equivalent level of experience in an appropriate field.
2. Appreciation of relevant technical standards, specifications, guidelines, best practices, quality procedures, and UKAS procedures.
3. Some experience of working in a Civil Engineering or related testing laboratory.
Working Conditions:
1. Working environment to be an equal split between office and site.
2. Constant working on live highways and construction sites, with some lone working.
3. Communicating with colleagues, contractors, and developers in a challenging environment.
