This role is within a unit where Surrey Police and Sussex Police work in collaboration, whilst remaining two separate legal entities/employers with different terms and conditions.
Successful candidates may be appointed on the terms and conditions of employment of either Surrey Police or Sussex Police, depending on organisational requirements. A discussion will be held with the successful candidate to confirm the details of location, salary, allowances and hours.

The starting salary for this role will usually be at the bottom of the salary range and will be pro-rata if the working hours are less than full time.
The Role & Key Responsibilities
From your first day with us you will be part of a policing family making a real difference. In this role you will:
1. Manage and coordinate the work of analysts and intelligence researchers and authorise work requests to ensure resources are directed effectively.
2. Motivate, develop and performance manage a team of researchers and analysts.
3. Coordinate and lead the production and presentation of analytical and research products.
4. Produce and coordinate strategic analytical reports to forecast and assess relevant threats and risks.
5. Review and quality assure the outputs from Intelligence Analysts and Intelligence Researchers.
6. Provide advice and guidance to operational colleagues.
7. Support the Head of Intelligence Research and Analysis in force-wide initiatives.
8. Represent and promote research, analysis and intelligence-led policing.
9. Provide support to spontaneous, critical and major incidents or events as directed.
10. Conduct all responsibilities in strict adherence with relevant legislation and guidelines.
Skills & Experience
1. Graduate calibre or equivalent professional experience in intelligence analysis.
2. Experience in direct line management and professional management.
3. Proven expertise in thinking strategically and assimilating complex information.
4. Experience in developing new practices to meet changing needs.
5. The ability to motivate staff and manage change effectively.
6. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence decision-making.
7. Exemplary time management and organisational skills.

Further Information
The current vacancy is in Caterham, in our East Surrey Divisional Intelligence unit. Working hours will be Full-Time (36 hours per week) with typical working hours 0800-1600 Monday to Friday. The post-holder must have a high level of personal integrity and successfully attain security vetting. Travel to meetings and locations within and beyond the counties of Surrey and Sussex is required.
