Job Summary
G B Flint Coachworks, an independent family-run Vehicle Accident Repair Centre in Long Eaton, is looking for a Workshop Controller. If you are looking for a role where you are an integral part of our team, with experience managing an accident repair workshop, then read on.
The Workshop Controller has an essential role in ensuring the smooth running of our busy workshop. You will be responsible for assigning work to the most suitable technician, maintaining or improving work quality, liaising with the customer service team, damage assessment team, and others to deliver excellent customer service. Supporting the management team, leading daily meetings, and contributing at senior management meetings.
It is essential that you have experience successfully managing a team in this role. Able to lead and motivate your team to succeed, have excellent communication skills with a drive to achieve the highest quality of repair and customer service.
Job Responsibilities
1. Working with our teams to ensure our customers receive excellent customer service, dealing with customers' queries and assisting colleagues when needed.
2. Safeguard the health, safety, and wellbeing of our technicians and those for whom you have responsibility.
3. Ensure the efficient and profitable operation of the company by effectively organising and controlling daily workshop operations.
4. Supervise the workshop staff throughout the working day.
5. Maintain/improve repair quality standards through an effective quality control system ensuring work is completed by appropriately skilled staff.
6. Work effectively as part of the management team to ensure industry-leading standards of customer care, workshop efficiency, profitability, and staff organisation.
7. Maximise all opportunities to promote the services offered or organised by the company.
8. Ensure staff comply with company policies, work provider agreements, repair specifications, and health and safety legislation at all times.
Essential Skills
1. Proven, successful experience in a workshop environment in the motor vehicle repair industry.
2. High levels of organisation and accuracy with strong IT skills.
3. Good people skills with the ability to communicate well with customers and colleagues face to face, by phone, and in writing.
4. Technical/practical knowledge of motor vehicle repair.
5. Manage by example, motivate, and support your team to deliver a high standard of work. Be able to calmly analyse and resolve issues.
6. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
7. Well presented, trustworthy, and ethical.
A full clean driving license is essential for this role.
This is a full-time role based in Long Eaton, working Monday to Friday. No weekends. Christmas closure.
Pay: £30,000 to £38,000
