To provide support for 10 hours per week. To support a female with her everyday life, to get out into the community and support her in her parenting role.
We are currently looking to recruit a Support Worker to provide support for a female who has physical disabilities as well as a mental health diagnosis. The purpose of your role will be to enable her independence, support in her parenting role, and help her get out into the community.
She has two young children and her health conditions can mean some tasks are difficult and can leave her overwhelmed and exhausted.
We are looking for someone to provide support Monday-Friday from 9.30-11.30 am. Your main duties will be to assist with preparing food for the family, support with lifting and carrying pans, chopping, and cleaning up.
You will support with heavy lifting of household items so that she can clean her home as this task can become overwhelming.
You will need to be calm and kind, have patience, and be happy to take things at her pace as her conditions can fluctuate day to day.
Your role will enable her to hopefully have less painful and tired days so that she can spend more time with her children outside of the house.
You do not need any experience for this role as it is more important that you are compassionate and want to help people live their lives in a way they want.
There is also a pet cat in the home, so you should be comfortable with this.
We would prefer you to be a car driver with your own transport; however, this is not essential as public transport can be used. Expenses will be met by your employer.
Hours - 10 hours per week. 2 x hours per day Monday to Friday. Hours will be discussed further at the interview.
