Role Overview
Faith Pharmacy is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Apprenticeship Pharmacy Technician. This is an ideal opportunity for a Level 2 qualified Medicines Counter Assistant or Dispensary Assistant to progress their career and qualify as a Pharmacy Technician via the apprenticeship route. This is a 2-year fixed term contract designed to provide hands-on experience, formal training, and the opportunity to achieve a nationally recognized qualification in a supportive community pharmacy environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Dispensing and Supply of Medicines: Assist in the preparation, dispensing, and supply of medicines in accordance with legal and regulatory standards. Provide advice and support to patients regarding their medications under supervision.
2. Customer Service: Deliver exceptional customer service, addressing patient inquiries in a friendly and professional manner. Work collaboratively with the pharmacy team to meet the needs of the community.
3. Stock Management: Assist in ordering, receiving, and managing stock to ensure the availability of medicines. Maintain accurate records and ensure the pharmacy is well-organized.
4. Compliance and Safety: Follow all relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), health and safety regulations, and data protection guidelines. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits.
5. Training and Development: Attend off-the-job training sessions as part of the apprenticeship program. Complete coursework, exams, and practical assessments to achieve the Level 3 Pharmacy Technician qualification.
Person Specification
1. Qualifications: Essential: GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C/4 or above in Mathematics, English, and a science subject. Level 2 Pharmacy Counter Assistant or Dispensary Assistant qualification.
