Job Description:
The Degree Placement programme is aimed at university students seeking a placement year as part of their course.
We are looking for ambitious and dependable individuals to care for the young people at Prior's Court. You should have an approachable personality with good listening and communication skills, as well as empathy and calming qualities. We are looking for confidence, positivity, and self-discipline, an individual who always strives for the best results, and who will be able to independently work towards their qualification.
Key job information:
Salary: £22k FTE. Shifts are paid, and study days are unpaid.
Hours: 37 hrs per week, as per our rota pattern which includes a mix of weekdays and weekend shifts, and may cover Bank Holidays. The early shift is 7am to 4pm. The late shift is 2pm to 10pm. The study day is 8am to 4pm.
Contract type: Fixed - Minimum 40 weeks. Full-time. Start date: September 2024
The role of a Degree Placement Autism Practitioner:
The placement will consist of:
1. Mainly paid shifts working directly with the young people we support, supporting them with their day-to-day living. It’s a care, teaching, and role-modelling role.
2. One day a week is released as a ‘study day’ (unpaid). This is dedicated time for you to complete the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare.
3. Opportunity to work paid overtime shifts working with Prior's Court young people.
4. You will receive monthly supervision and continuous support from your manager, and benefit from a network with others on placement and mentoring from the Entry Level Talent Coach.
You will gain:
1. Experience working with autistic young people with complex needs.
2. Continued personal development and the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare.
3. Ongoing added support from our dedicated Entry Level Talent Coach.
4. Experience of being part of a team and multi-agency working.
Can't drive?
We offer a direct-to-site transport service for our Autism Practitioners, with pick-up and drop-off points.
