Job Summary
We are offering a fantastic opportunity for a Head of Nursing (Children) to lead the nursing agenda in the Division of Medicine at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, working in a triumvirate with the Divisional Director and Clinical Director. The Division of Medicine includes the Paediatric Emergency Department, Paediatric Observation and Assessment Units, Paediatric and Tertiary Medicine Inpatient Units, Out Patient Services and associated Specialist Nursing Teams.
We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic children's nurse who is able to provide clear, compassionate and inspirational leadership across professional boundaries. The post holder will need to be able to influence and engage with multiple stakeholder partners across the system and possess a clear voice and vision for children, young people, families and staff. They should have excellent communication skills with a record of service delivery, quality improvement and workforce development.
You will need to ensure that the care provided across the Division, which includes services at Oxford Road Campus, Wythenshawe Hospital, Trafford General Hospital and North Manchester General Hospital, is of a consistently high standard in each of the sites.
Main Duties of the Job
As Head of Nursing, you will be responsible for the strategic direction and professional leadership of the children's nursing teams that sit within the Division of Medicine, ensuring that outstanding standards of care are delivered and supported through the clinical governance framework.
You will need to work collaboratively with stakeholders and partners across the services to build upon existing relationships and progress service delivery in order to provide seamless care provision and improve outcomes and children, young people's and families' experience.
You will ensure safe, compassionate and dignified care, achieving this in collaboration and partnership with children, young people and families.
You will need to ensure that service transformation is completed through true co-production with children, young people and their families so that we can accurately respond to their needs.
Success in the role will require high levels of tenacity, resilience and self-motivation, together with exceptional influencing and negotiation skills.

Minimum Requirements
Qualifications and Experience (Essential)
* Registered Children's Nurse: RSCN/RN (Child)
* Graduate in health-related subject
* Masters or higher degree. Post registration leadership development
* Significant and current clinical experience at senior nurse leadership level within children's acute setting
* Knowledge of statutory safeguarding guidance and experience of managing complex child protection situations.
* Experience of setting workforce establishments, reviewing skill mix and introduction of new roles.

* Ability to produce both written and verbal complex reports and action plans.
