Regional Operations Manager - Southern Area
Summary of role's main purpose
The Regional Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the operational performance of multiple depots within the refrigeration vehicle rental business. The role’s primary objectives are to drive operational efficiency, ensure customer satisfaction, maintain fleet performance, and achieve business growth targets. The Regional Operations Manager will also be accountable for managing depot profitability, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and leading a high-performing team across the region.
Principle Accountabilities
Operational Leadership
• Ensure effective leadership of depot managers, setting clear performance expectations and supporting the achievement of operational excellence across all depots.
• Lead and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and streamline processes across the region.
Customer Satisfaction & Service Delivery
• Ensure that customer service delivery meets the highest standards, with a focus on timely vehicle availability, minimal downtime, and proactive issue resolution.
• Work closely with the sales and customer service teams to improve customer retention and increase service uptake.
Depot Profitability
• Manage and optimize depot operations to meet or exceed financial targets, including revenue generation and cost control.
• Ensure all depots operate within budget, identifying opportunities to reduce costs without sacrificing quality.
Fleet Performance Management:
• Maintain and optimize the performance and utilization of the fleet, ensuring vehicles are regularly serviced and compliant with all safety and regulatory requirements.
• Maximize fleet uptime and minimize unplanned vehicle downtime.
Compliance & Risk Management:
• Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards across all depots, conducting audits and addressing any risks identified.
• Maintain compliance with legal regulations, including industry-specific standards for refrigerated transportation.
Team Development & Leadership:
• Foster a high-performance culture, promoting the professional growth and development of depot managers and teams.
• Implement talent development plans and ensure regular performance reviews for all key staff members.
Business Growth & Expansion:
• Identify and pursue opportunities for business expansion, including the development of new services, markets, or depots.
• Lead efforts to increase market share and improve the competitiveness of the company’s service offering.
