Our client in Oxford is looking to recruit Financial Assessment Officers to carry out the financial assessments of clients that are in the receipt of chargeable services provided by Adult Social Services in accordance with the Care Act 2014. Benefits of the role: Good payrate Supportive management structure Flexible working arrangements Your main responsibilities as a Financial Assessment Officer: To obtain and verify financial information from clients and/or their legal, business or personal representatives and carry out financial assessment of clients receiving chargeable care services, identifying any gaps in information and making additional enquiries as necessary so as to ensure maximum accuracy of the assessment. To acquire and maintain up to date knowledge of appropriate charging regulations and procedures as detailed in the Care Act 2014 To acquire and maintain up to date knowledge of appropriate parts of the State Benefit system and related legislation and to offer clients advice and/or referrals to other agencies for claiming those benefits when appropriate. To inform clients of their assessed contributions, the invoicing procedure and payment methods available to them. To deal with queries arising from the assessments and invoices. To inform relevant colleagues in Adult Social Care of the outcome of the Financial Assessments. To deal with queries from colleagues arising from the assessment and/or invoicing process. To follow approved procedures when financially re-assessing client contributions including annual reviews of contributions, recording client deaths, raising final accounts, dealing with clients’ overpayments which require refunds. To assist in producing reports as required and to assist in the further development of the financial assessment team and the maintenance of the team’s Control framework. To provide administration of all current and new Deferred Interest Loans to include: creating new vendors in the SAP system for staged payments and final payments of invoices, Reviewing all loans annually, arranging collection of interest payable and redemption of a loan when appropriate. What we are looking for in a Financial Assessment Officer: Have a Maths and English GCSE at Grade A-C or equivalent Have a decent IT literacy and be able to use Microsoft Office applications Be able to express your views clearly in person, by telephone and in writing Have the ability to meet challenging deadlines and prioritise your work effectively Have experience of dealing with the public Must have a DBS Why Liquid Personnel?
