Main Duties & Objective
Balance Power are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity within our dynamic and forward-thinking Design Department as a Design Assistant (CAD). As a member of the Planning & Design Team, you will provide support and design solutions to the development of battery storage and solar energy generation projects from their initial identification through to ‘planning achieved’ and beyond. Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
* Initial viability assessments of potential development sites utilising spatial design work
* Using AutoCAD day to day to create & modify high-quality, scaled plans, elevations & sections for design development and planning submission
* To liaise with both internal & external teams to understand project requirements & provide design advice
* To conduct site visits and surveys as and when required
* Present working drawings for use at all project stages
Skills / Qualifications
* 1- 2 years’ experience using AutoCAD
* Ability to converse and negotiate effectively, providing design advice and solutions to internal and external teams
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Maintaining accurate records and process driven mindset
* Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
* Excellent attention to detail
* Strong research skills
* Excellent time management and organisation skills.
* Full and clean driving licence is required.
Required Knowledge
A working knowledge of 3D design using Revit would be desirable, but not essential. An interest in construction, energy, renewables, or development would also be beneficial.

The role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability to build strong relationships with external parties. The ability to understand and follow a process from initial instruction through to delivery is essential. The role requires a good level of IT knowledge and analytical skill as well as the ability to think pro-actively and use your initiative to drive projects forward.
