Excellent opportunity to step up into a Senior Buyer to be part of a procurement team operating in the Construction and Infrastructure sectors.
Location: - Northampton
Role Description:
The Resolute Group is working in partnership with a Tier 1 contractor looking to expand its procurement team by recruiting a Senior Buyer on a permanent basis. As a Senior Buyer, you will be procuring materials, plant, goods and services in accordance with the approved company procedures.
The role requires the successful candidate to be forward-thinking, dynamic and have strong communication/negotiation skills and a background within the Construction / Infrastructure sector. Your remit will be to drive the best value in terms of cost, quality and service from suppliers throughout the life cycle of each project. This is not a major projects team so you will be interfacing on multiple live and tender projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities (day to day):
* Managing the buying team offering advice and support to the buyers to ensure processes are followed and best practice is shared.
* Organising deliveries of materials and equipment with the relevant Contracts Manager to confirm locations, timeframes, and budgets.
* Negotiating terms with suppliers such as unit price, delivery charges, rebates and credit terms.
* Highlighting any concerns or delays over material lead times to the relevant Contracts Managers and Senior Management where necessary.
* Identifying opportunities to bring on new suppliers to maximise value, improve coverage, deliver better service and reduce lead times.
This role is based 5 days a week in the office, hence a great opportunity for a Buyer to step up into a Senior Buyer and gain leadership mentoring from the Directors in the business.
Required Experience:
* Ideally CIPS qualified or working towards it.
* Working in the construction/Infrastructure sector ideally with a Sub or Main contractor as development is provided to upskill you into a Senior Buyer.
* Based in the Northampton office 5 days a week (Monday to Friday).
* Full Driving licence.
