Job Title : Deputy Front of House Manager
Location: Ashridge House, Berkhamsted, HP4 1NS
Reports to : Front of House Manager
Hours : Any 5 days out of 7, 40 hours per week About the Opportunity: We are looking for someone with strong operational experience and amazing people leadership skills to join our Front of House team as Deputy Front of House Manager. This role will report directly to the Front of House Manager. You will assist in managing our team of Receptionists and Venue Services colleagues and ensure the departments are operationally efficient.As Deputy Front of House Manager, you will ensure our standards are always met and that our guests receive the best experience at Ashridge House. Reception is the first point of contact when a guest arrives at the venue, and it must be organised with a guest-centric attitude. Our Venue Services team perform the set-up and turnaround of conference and function spaces across the site, manage porters, and assist guests wherever necessary.If you are passionate about leading and developing a team to provide excellent customer service and operational efficiency, we want to hear from you! Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure the Venues and Reception team are aligned, and communication is clear across all platforms
2. Manage both day and night teams to perform to a high standard
3. Assist in the day to day running of both reception, and venues when required
4. Assist in rota management, with the business needs in mind to ensure all tasks are completed in good time
5. Maintain a friendly, welcoming environment for customers, employees and candidates.
6. Assist in stock management
7. Report any structural, cosmetic, or IT related issues
8. Assist in managing Health & Safety within the department and report all incidents
9. Stay on top of security requirements, including the management of keys that the teams are responsible for
10. Provide training to new employees and maintain training records
11. Perform admin requirements for all teams; such as printing and proof-reading function sheets
Candidate Profile :
12. Willingness to adopt a flexible and adaptable approach to the day-to-day workload
13. Customer focused, leader, good communication skills, operationally flexible and a problem solver
14. Experience in hospitality-based management
15. Demonstrate knowledge of Opera or similar systems, with experience in performing reception duties and/or hosting
16. Hands on approach with a can-do attitude, leading the team from the front
