We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced individual for our small award winning specialist residential home in Carlisle that provides person-centred care for up to 27 older people, some with dementia.
This is an exciting opportunity for a senior carer who is passionate about providing compassionate, person centred care. Your role will include assessing needs, reviewing and developing care plans, coaching and supervising staff and liaising with care managers and the multi-disciplinary team. You will monitor the day to day quality of care and promote a high level of resident happiness and satisfaction, encouraging residents to enjoy active lifestyles and community connections. You will work closely with health professionals and agencies to provide effective, holistic care.
You will need a caring approach and have excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills. Our ideal candidate will have a can-do, positive attitude and a minimum of two years relevant management experience of caring for older people and/or people with dementia. You must have NVQ or Health & Social Care Diploma Level 3 or higher and be able to evidence practitioner skills and knowledge. You will be hard working, physically active and enthusiastic with the ability to act as a role model. Most of all you will be dedicated to enabling people with dementia to maintain the best possible quality of life.
We can offer you the opportunity to work with a well-established team of staff in a very positive, friendly environment which has been tailored to the needs of people with dementia. We will support you with further professional and management training (such as Level 5 diploma qualification) and specialist dementia care courses.
