Background
We wish to recruit a bank of “as and when” staff to assist us to deliver a high-quality service to young people 365 days per year in our supported accommodation services.
Supported Accommodation Services in Lancashire
Barnardo's provides supported accommodation to young people aged 16-24 across multiple sites in Lancashire. The services aim to provide young people with the skills, knowledge and confidence needed for independent living. The young people who live in our accommodation are from a range of backgrounds and are often either in the process of Leaving Care or have experienced homelessness.
Moving On - 2a High Street and Mariners View
This service provides 7 units of short-term accommodation-based housing and support to young people aged 16-25 who are vulnerable and unable to live independently in the community. This service is staffed 24/7.
Mariners View is comprised off 11 1-bed roomed flats and staff provide visiting support.
Moving On - Dispersed Houses
Moving On also manages 3 shared houses in Lancaster and Preston where young people, aged 18-25, live with visiting support from Barnardo's staff.
Initial Specific Responsibilities
We wish to add to our existing bank of reliable and high quality workers to assist us in the delivery of these services. We regularly need additional staffing cover, particularly in the event of staff vacancies or illness, and wish to identify suitable individuals to provide this vital service.
Working Hours
2a High Street
The successful candidates will participate in a rota that covers 7 days per week and 365 days per year. At the moment all of our Project Workers work a mixture of the following shifts:
08:00 – 16:00
14:00 – 22:00
21:30 – 08:30
Mariners View and Dispersed Houses
Additional capacity is required on various days at times to be determined by the manager of the service
The successful candidates will be skilled at working with young people who have a range of issues. They will be able to work effectively, often on their own, within a supported accommodation environment to ensure the young people are safe and able to develop their independent living skills.
