Health & Safety Manager
Salary – Grade 10
Hours – 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Location – Lostock, CW9 7ZR
As a Health & Safety Manager at FCC Environment, you will play a critical role in shaping and maintaining our safety culture. You will advise Directors and Managers across the business, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations and promoting a proactive approach to health, safety, and wellbeing.
This vacancy is for a full-time position, working five days per week.

What will you be doing?
1. Advising on health, safety, and welfare matters to ensure compliance with legal and company standards
2. Conducting inspections, investigations, and risk assessments, and producing reports
3. Monitoring and guiding operational managers, supervisors, and safety representatives across the Group
4. Leading by example in promoting a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and risk reduction
5. Keeping up to date with current legislation and ensuring it is implemented across the organisation
6. Co-ordinating with regulatory bodies such as the HSE and Fire Services
7. Delivering health and safety training internally
8. Supporting the development and implementation of safety plans in line with business objectives
9. Prohibiting unsafe activities and acting swiftly in high-risk situations
What are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone who’s not just qualified—but passionate about making a real difference in workplace safety.
You will have:
1. A NEBOSH Diploma (Level 6) or NVQ Level 5 (or equivalent)
2. A Graduate membership of IOSH (minimum)
3. Strong working knowledge of health and safety legislation and practices
4. Experience in the waste and recycling sector (preferred)
5. Proven ability to influence, coach, and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
7. A proactive and flexible approach with strong problem-solving skills
8. A full, valid UK driving licence
