An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Programme Support Administrator, to join the Revalidation Directorate. This role is pivotal in supporting the revalidation of our Postgraduate Doctors in Training. You will provide operational support across a large and diverse team. Based within the Revalidation team, you will report to a Programme Support Coordinator and work closely with our clinicians to deliver high-quality support.
The successful candidate will be resourceful, enthusiastic, possess the ability to communicate effectively, be able to prioritise their own workload, have excellent time management skills, and handle information confidentially.
This role offers the flexibility of hybrid working, with a combination of remote work and at least 40% of working hours (pro-rata for part-time) and can be based at any of our offices in Hull, Leeds or Rotherham. You will also be expected to travel across the Yorkshire and Humber region for meetings and events as required.
Please note that the reason for the fixed term of this contract is short term project due to funding.
Main duties of the job
As part of NHS England, the Revalidation Directorate is responsible for all aspects of revalidation for over 7,000 Postgraduate Doctors in Training.
The day-to-day management and administration of revalidation for our Postgraduate Doctors in Training will include the following duties:
1. Reviewing revalidation connections in liaison with the General Medical Council using various online systems
2. Reviewing outcomes for Annual Review of Competence Progression panels
3. Liaising with members of the wider team on all aspects of doctors training
4. Reviewing and processing reports in liaison with the team
5. Reviewing and changing revalidation information as appropriate
6. Processing highly confidential information relating to investigations
7. Monitoring various inboxes, ensuring timely and accurate responses
8. Ensuring excellent communication with Clinical Faculty, Local Education Providers, General Medical Council, and Postgraduate Dentists in Training
9. Secretariat support for regular meetings
10. Support for the appeal process
11. Maintenance of the website and Sharepoint sites
Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSE grade 9-4 (A*-C) or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics, or NVQ / ECDL or equivalent
* GCSE grade 9-4 (A*-C) or above (or equivalent) in IT/ICT/Microsoft Office, or NVQ / ECDL or equivalent
* Nationally recognised qualification (e.g. NVQ or BTEC) in business/office administration at level 3 or above, or equivalent
Experience
* Experience of working in an administrative/clerical or secretarial support role, including preparing/planning events, preparing information for reports/communications.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft office programmes, including Word and Excel
* Experience of working in a team or working to deadlines
* Experience of using databases/data entry systems e.g. Microsoft Access or similar bespoke software
* Formal course or evidence of understanding of data protection legislation and information governance
* Previous experience working in the NHS or similar training and education environment and evidence of suitable knowledge gained whilst in the role.
