* GCSE in English and Maths at level C/4 or above (or equivalent e.g., Functional Skills L2)
* 32 UCAS points from a science or social science subject. This may include a full level 3 Apprenticeship or Access to Higher Education/ A Levels.
You will also need to attach the confirmation of suitability form. This must be signed by your departmental Matron.
Without this information, your application will not be progressed.
Main duties of the job
This exciting opportunity offers you the chance to study with the University of Portsmouth (UOP), earning whilst you learn. Under this new programme created by UOP starting April 2025, you will become part of their first Nursing Degree Apprentices (Adult field only). This will lead you to becoming part of our future nursing team.
As a nursing apprentice, you will work part of your time as a healthcare support worker and the remainder as a nursing apprentice. The programme is offered as full-time; however, part-time hours can be considered (32.5 hours per week as a minimum).

In order to progress your application, it is essential that you clearly state and provide all relevant qualifications including Maths and English and appropriate Level 3 or higher qualification.
Please provide a statement on why you wish to be a Nursing Apprentice with Portsmouth Hospitals. (This can be included in the 'Message to Hiring Manager' on the first page of the application form or as a separate attachment and must be a minimum of 500 words).
The start date for the Registered Nurse Degree apprenticeship will be the 7th April 2025.
Please note that all shortlisted applicants will be required to have matron or equivalent approval prior to interview.

* Aged 18 or over at the start of the programme.
* You must have the right to work in the UK or eligible residency status for apprenticeship funding.
