Abington Medical are looking to recruit new members of the call handling/administration team with various hours available :
1. Monday,Tuesday,Thursday Wednesday,Friday
2. Monday Friday
3. Monday - Friday
The candidate will be expected to ensure the smooth running of thepractice and reception/admin service, promoting high practice standards ofcustomer service. To provide a point of contact for patients, act as a focalpoint of communication between patients, doctors and other members of theprimary health care team following practice policies and procedures.
Main duties of the job
MAIN DUTIES :
1. To handle a large volume of telephone calls, obtain and record accurate information using the systems provided.
2. To communicate with all patients and members of the practice team in a calm and respectful manner at all times.
3. To book appointments with health care professionals when required in accordance with practice policies and procedures.
4. To make outgoing calls to patients informing them accurately of all information following clinical instruction.
5. To have knowledge and direct patients to the practice website to obtain useful information and complete forms required
6. To inform patients of the Practice online services and advise on how this service works.
7. To monitor the flow of patients into the waiting room
8. Explain the registration process to new patients and those seeking temporary cover.
9. To ensure accurate messages are taken for all members of the practice team.
10. To direct information to the relevant staff member who can help with enquiries. access to medical records task
11. To ensure that notifications, emails are checked on a regular basis.
12. To act as a chaperone if required.
13. To ensure that all work stations are clean and tidy before and after use.

Abington Medical Centreserves parts of the Borough of Northampton.
Our team includes 8 GPs, 2 nurses, 2 healthcare assistants as well as our practice manager and reception/admin staff. Wealso have additional roles to support the GPs which are, Clinical Pharmacists,Pharmacy Technicians, Social Prescribers and Paramedics. The practice offers afull general practice service and run specialist clinics for diabetes, COPD,and asthma sufferers.
