About the Role:

Protocol Education is on the lookout for a Primary School Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) at a wonderful primary school in Colchester! This is a full-time, temp-to-perm role where you’ll help one amazing young learner thrive in the classroom, develop confidence, and build key skills for the future.

What You’ll Be Doing:
* 1:1 Support: Work closely with a primary-aged student, adapting learning activities and routines to meet their unique needs.
* Encourage Engagement: Use positive reinforcement to keep your student motivated and involved in lessons, making learning fun and accessible.
* Work with the Team: Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), and other support staff to implement individual learning plans.
* Build a Positive Relationship: Be a friendly, patient presence for your student, helping them feel comfortable, supported, and excited to learn.
* Promote Independence: Encourage small steps towards independence, celebrating each success to build self-esteem.
* Track Progress: Monitor and report on your student’s achievements, helping adjust strategies as needed to maximize progress.
Who We’re Looking For:
* Patient and Positive: You’re understanding, encouraging, and committed to helping children overcome challenges.
* Strong Communicator: You can work well with teachers, parents, and the student, providing clear, positive, and constructive support.
* Experience with SEND: Experience working with SEND students or supporting children in a similar capacity is preferred.
* Adaptable and Resourceful: You can adjust your approach to suit the needs of each day, bringing creativity and flexibility to each challenge.
* Team Player: You’re collaborative and ready to work alongside a supportive team of education professionals.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
