Associate Director, Investment Analytics - Investment Management

The team is part of the investment management function, overseeing and managing the investment operating platform. This includes BAU operational activities, business management, governance and oversight support, as well as shaping and executing strategic and regulatory change initiatives across the department. The team works closely with stakeholders across investment management and the broader organisation to deliver strategic goals.
The Investment Analytics function is a newly established team that integrates Trading Analytics, Portfolio Construction Services, and Performance & Attribution to provide best-in-class analytics solutions for stakeholders.
Purpose of the Role
The main objective of this role is to support the department head in establishing the Investment Analytics function and implementing the Investment Analytics programme.
This will involve working within a small, collaborative team and engaging with individuals at all levels, from senior management to junior developers. The successful candidate will contribute to the programme's success by analysing existing processes, defining requirements for development teams, and liaising with key vendors to support delivery.
Additionally, this role will involve working across multiple asset classes to ensure that requirements are met, stakeholders are appropriately engaged, and effective solutions are implemented.
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to the success of the Investment Analytics programme.
* Work closely with the programme team to ensure alignment and coordination across investment teams.
* Engage with various asset classes to gather requirements and maintain strong stakeholder engagement.
* Collaborate with the Market Data team to ensure effective management of key vendor relationships.
* Provide reporting and key metrics to track and monitor programme success.
Experience and Qualifications Required
* Proven expertise in an investment analytics function within asset management or investment banking.
* Degree-level education, with CFA, FRM, or an equivalent qualification preferred.
* A strong track record of successfully delivering projects or commitments in a timely and effective manner.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders and senior management.
* Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a solutions-focused mindset.
* High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines.
* Strong problem-solving skills with the flexibility to adapt to changing requirements.
Technical Skills & Requirements:
* Proficiency in Python for quantitative analysis, data manipulation, and automation.
* Strong SQL skills for querying and managing investment-related data.
* Experience with VBA (Excel Macros) for reporting, performance attribution, and process automation.
* Knowledge of R for statistical modelling, econometrics, and portfolio analysis (desirable but not essential).
Desirable
* Prior experience working with platforms such as FactSet or MSCI.
* Industry-recognised project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, APM Practitioner, or Certified Scrum Master).
